Food and Environmental Intolerance

BIE is a simple, new, natural modality that uses a state-of-the-art instrument called the GSR-120 unit that is used to direct energy onto specific points on the body to help create a homeostatic state, therefore alleviating the intolerances.

Generally, it requires only 1 to 4 visits to maintain homeostasis.

In most cases, homeostasis can be achieved after the first visit.

For people with multiple stressors including high stress levels, high degree of bodily toxins and a weakened immune system, multiple treatments are usually needed to achieve homeostasis.

Over the last 50 years we have seen an exponential increase in the development of food and environmental intolerances. This is due, in part, to the growing toxicity of our environment and the stresses that these toxins place on our system.

The first step in treating an intolerance is identification.  Dr. Brereton uses a variety of methods to identify food and environmental intolerances and allergies including blood, saliva and energetic testing methods.

Once the food and/or environmental intolerance is identified it can then be treated using a method called BIE or Bioelectric Intolerance Elimination.  This treatment method stimulates specific acupuncture points with electrical frequencies associated with the substances to which the patient is intolerant.  The treatment is painless and safe for people of all ages and health levels.

Underlying many cases of food and environmental intolerance is bowel overgrowth of Candida albicans (a type of yeast). Over-exposure to antibiotics, steroids, sugar and hormonal therapies including birth control pills allows for Candida to proliferate and become a dominant microbial species in the bowel.  When this happens, the toxins released by Candida can begin to create inflammation and irritation in the bowel, which in turn causes something called Leaky Gut Syndrome.  Leaky Gut Syndrome in turn makes the body more likely to react to the environment, including developing food and environmental intolerances.  Treating Candida yeast is critical to achieving long-term health and reducing intolerances.
