With over three decades of clinical excellence, Shannon's career spans leading roles in hospital, private, and public health settings, most notably with the Mary Pack Arthritis Program and private practice clinics.
Shannon’s dedication to lifelong learning is reflected in her extensive continuing education, including specialized training in tendon injuries, biomechanics, chronic pain, nutrition, and advanced hand therapy. She holds certifications in GLAD for osteoarthritis management, management of RA and OA hands, advanced therapy for hip and knee replacements, and BET Biokinetik techniques.
Shannon takes a partnership approach with each of her clients, working towards the client's goals using manual therapy, modalities, splinting/bracing, education and exercise strategies.

I have been working as a physiotherapist for 19 years and have spent all of those years helping athletes, weekend warriors, workers, and people in motor vehicle accidents recover from their injuries.
As a practitioner, my goal is to work cooperatively with all other health care providers involved in your care until we have you feeling and functioning better.
As a physiotherapist, my skill set includes physiotherapy assessment and diagnosis of injuries, education on: ergonomics, exercise programs, behaviour adaptation and training for future physical challenges as well as as multiple certifications in intramuscular stimulation (IMS) and dry needling.

Janine graduated with a Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta in 2007, after completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. After graduation, Janine completed many continuing education courses, including Manual Mobilization of Muscles, Dynamic Core for Kids, New Advances in Hip Rehabilitation, Acupuncture, and Therapeutic Exercise Prescription. She also received her certification in Biomedical Dry Needling and is a certified dry needling practitioner.
Janine has spent the last few years working in pediatrics in both school and community settings, with children who present with various neurological and orthopedic conditions as well as delayed gross motor development. Janine’s physiotherapy practice involves utilizing techniques such as manual therapy, exercise prescription, play-based pediatric therapy, dry needling, and other modalities. Janine has a special interest in pediatrics.
Janine’s goal with each patient is to provide education on injury prevention, and home exercise programs to ensure full recovery and return to function. Janine is continuing to further her education by taking more post-graduate courses.
In her spare time, Janine enjoys spending time outdoors with her young family, and enjoying everything that the beautiful Kootenays has to offer.
