With rainy fall weather upon us and kids back to school we’re all spending more time indoors sharing our invisible friends that cause the cold and flu. Normally our house, like most with kids in school, goes down after our child brings an unwelcome guest home. This year has been different, our visitor came through my clinic and me to our home taking me down first with my wife following (our child has remained healthy).
Shortly after I felt the symptoms coming on I gave myself an ozone treatment followed by high dose (25 grams) IV vitamin C. Two days later I’m 90% better and going back to work. Without intervention, a bug like this would normally take me 3-5 days to fully recover from. This is typical of immune modulating therapies, they shorten the severity and duration of infectious illness. As I’ve written about previously, ozone gas is a potent antimicrobial agent that kills many different viruses and bacteria and also balances the immune system.
For acute infections higher doses of ozone work best to kill the microbe. Vitamin C is an essential vitamin (you can only get it from your food) that does many helpful things for your body including boosting your immunity. It helps with the production of white blood cells which protect the body from infection. Vitamin C also helps white blood cells function more effectively, improving their ability to track down and kill infectious critters.
As is always the case, prevention is best and the risk of colds and flu’s can be reduced by getting regular good sleep, eating a high quality plant-based diet and washing your hands. If these preventive measures fail and you want to shorten the duration and severity of your illness, consider taking vitamin C, as little as 200mg daily has been shown to shorten the duration and reduce the severity of the illness. If you places to be and people to see and want to recover as quickly as possible, consider autohemotherapy with ozone and intravenous vitamin C.
